He would not be hated more than any previous manager after a few games. More than Allardyce? No. More than Macari? No. More than Roeder or Grant? No.

Maybe after a season but not if he loses a few games (unless we appoint someone like McLeish).

What concerns me is that we are linked with all these managers and with Sullivan stating we will have an exciting manager, that the expectation is naturally high and we will be left with someone (possibly Bilic) who is seen as 3rd/4th choice etc.

Once he has a few bad games he will be hated more than any previous manager before him and the owners will be slated for not getting Klopp, Emery or any of our other targets.

How the f*ck does anyone know whether a manager will be good or not until he is tried and has a chance to make his mark?

Whatever happens we are moving from Allardyce style to someone else and that will take time.

The quicker we get this decision made and work hard in pre season to get their mentality, style and players in place then least impact it will have on the start of the season.

I get then point of those who aren't overly enthusiastic about Bilic and have some reservations, but it doesn't really seem like there is are any in-betweeners.

Either he is man to lead us into a new era
or
He is a shit manager who fucked off at the first sniff of a bigger pay day 18 years ago.

I put this on the wrong thread and meant to write it on here -

I still don't understand the cries for Bilic and the 'he's one of us' obsession.

If memory serves me right, he was here for around 16 months in total. He played only 48 league games and only 20 more games for us than he did Everton.

He took a side step to a 15th in the table team and left us purely for the money and he got absolutely slated, jeered and people were screaming judas at him.

Fast forward 18 years for some reason that's all been forgotten and now he is a hero who understands the fans and what it means to be West Ham etc - what a load of shit.

I don't understand the reasons why you would want Bilic from what he did here as a player and I certainly don't get the euphoria in terms of his Managerial CV. Yes he did well for Croatia but international management is not the same as club management and his CV in club football management I would say is pretty unimpressive. Second in a Croatian league which is basically failure, sacked in Russia and two 3rd place finishes in Turkey which is about as impressive as Arsenal finishing 4th - hardly impressive and is the absolute minimum requirement.

If he becomes Manager, then I will wish him luck and I'd get behind him. But he wouldn't be my choice and I just don't get it why he is a popular choice on here.

He's never worked with a mid or lower mid table team in a division. Locomotive Moscow and besiktas are top four clubs in their countries so win percentage is meaningless because bfs has never managed an equivalent ranked team in England

What's his win percentage vs BS? You may include BS in the Fizzy Pop to make it fair

Re: Besiktas' final game is on 31st May. Bilic appointment should be announced then...
It's fucking Turkey hairy hammer ! Besiktas is one of the three big teams in the league . The fact of the matter is that billic's record in club football doesn't hold a candle to sam's. Two jobs (Russia and Turkey ) and lasted a season at each.

All this West Ham favourite bullshit is bollocks too. He couldn't wait to jump ship as soon as a supposed bigger team came in for him (Everton)

And don't it get me started on his cheating theatrics in getting Laurent blanc sent off in the World Cup . The mans a cunt

Bilic just said now live in a press conference that he will be leaving Besiktas at the end of the season, and like a man should do, he said this .

" I have failed to win the league title for two seasons and that is my fault it is all down to me".

I wonder if Big Sam would have been so magnanimous .
